1st Class Gymnastics Academy

1. NO STUDENT SHOULD ENTER OR LEAVE THE GYM FLOOR WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM THE INSTRUCTOR.
2. All students should WAIT INSIDE of the building for your child to arrive.  No students should be outside of the building without adult supervision.
3. All parents are responsible for the safety and conduct of their child/children in the waiting area.  Please take a minute to PICK UP anything that they may leave out when they are finished.  Thank you.
4. Waving or calling out to people in the waiting area from the gym, while on the equipment is NOT SAFE.  Likewise, waving or calling out to students from the waiting area is not safe.  Please do not try to coach your child while at the gym, as that may interfere with what the teachers' goals are at the time and may confuse the student resulting in injury.
5. When switching events, SIT DOWN and WAIT for your teachers DIRECTIONS before practicing on the equipment.
6. LISTEN and FOLLOW your teachers DIRECTIONS.
7. If you do not understand your teachers' directions, or you cannot remember the skill you are suppose to practice, ask the teacher POLITELY to help.
8. NEVER try a new skill without a teacher's spot or guidance.
9. Never try to SPOT a fellow classmate, and do not let a fellow classmate spot you.
10. Flipping is only allowed with a teacher's official OK.
11. Always WALK around the equipment and other students practicing when switching events.
12. When jumping off a piece of equipment always land in a FREEZE position.
13. When waiting in line, please be aware of other's PERSONAL SPACE.
14. Always tell the teacher if you are feeling SICK OR HURT.
15. If you fall and can't get up, TELL a classmate to get the teacher.  If a classmate falls and can't get up, GET the teacher to help, do not try to help the classmate yourself.
16. DRESS in safe attire.  Socks and tights are slippery.  Hair not tied up can get in the way of seeing a safe landing.  Jewelry and loose clothing (strings, etc.) can get caught on the equipment.  Please, no gum or candy in the gym area.
17. PARENTS, in case of FIRE, please evacuate the building in a calm manner thru the nearest exit and meet us at the 1st entrance of the parking lot.  That is our meeting place and you will find your child there.  Please do not take your child from this spot without first letting his/her teacher know that you are taking him/her.

REMINDERS

1. Please be sure that children go to the BATHROOM and get a DRINK prior to the start of class.  You must accompany your child to the bathroom if they need to go during class.  Team members are expected to use the buddy system.
2. SNOW POLICY:  in the event of inclement weather, call (978) 424-7707 1 hour prior to the start of class to find out if the class is cancelled or not.
